OPPERA I, Act II

The interview conducted by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) with Dr. William Maixner on the publication of results of the OPPERA study was very informative. We thought you would like to read it.

In December 2013, the Journal of Pain published a special issue that featured the latest findings from the NIDCR-supported clinical study Orofacial Pain: Prospective Evaluation and Risk Assessment (OPPERA). The latest OPPERA findings, folded into eight original articles and a summary paper, present the most in-depth picture to date of the factors that may contribute to a person developing a first bout of a painful temporomandibular disorder, or TMD.  Click here to read more.
