Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee - December 2015 Webcast
The Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee (IPRCC) is a Federal advisory committee created by the Department of Health and Human Services to enhance pain research efforts and promote collaboration across the government, with the ultimate goals of advancing the fundamental understanding of pain and improving pain-related treatment strategies.
CPRA’s co-founder and director, Christin Veasley, has served on the IPRCC since its inception. She was asked by the IPRCC leadership to update the Committee on the NIH's efforts to advance a strategic and coordinated research plan for Chronic Overlapping Pain Conditions, called for by the CPRA in our 2015 white paper. (See Goal #2 here.) The first step in this process is to develop a case definition for COPCs and a Common Data Elements program, which was the focus of her presentation. The IPRRC meeting is available on NIH VideoCast at http://videocast.nih.gov/summary.asp?Live=17523&bhcp=1. Scroll to 36:27 to view this presentation.
